Summer Camp Special Events and Trips

Our sessions are packed with fun and exciting special events that are some of the highlights
of the summer. Our evening activities vary each night, but are known to include council
fires, evening leagues, talent shows, and capture the flag. Campers also love when we
have Carnivals, inter-camp competitions and Cobba-haus (an ice cream party).
By far our most exciting and talked about special events are Tribal Games and Color War.
Tribal Games are held during first session and the camp is split into four teams for
intense competition in all sorts of wild and crazy activities. Color War occurs second
session, but this time the camp is divided into two teams. There is always mystery
surrounding the beginning of Tribal Games and Color War since only a couple people at
camp know when it is, making breaks that much more exciting. Past breaks have
included helicopters dropping thousands of ping pong balls over camp, stretch Hummer
limos, and real S.W.A.T teams. Both Tribal Games and Color War bring together our
philosophy on teamwork and sportsmanship, and allow campers to showcase the new skills
they have developed during the summer both on and off the field.
Additionally, every camper will go on an age-appropriate trip during their summer.
We offer various hiking, climbing, canoeing, and camping trips to various destinations
in Maine. One of the most popular trips is an overnight trip to Spirit Island, our
own private island located just 200 feet from camp. Every Wednesday is Trip Day,
where campers go to popular destinations out of camp, such as: The Maine Wildlife
Park, Old Orchard Beach, or trips to see the Portland Sea Dogs, a local minor league
baseball team. Our oldest campers (who have completed 7th grade and higher) participate
in one of Maine's best attractions: white water rafting!
