New England is gorgeous, and its crown jewel is Maine.
Every so often we get the question: “Maine is pretty far from here . . . is it really that different?”
Maine is quieter. Maine is bigger. Maine is wilder.
At Cobbossee there are no cell phones, no honking cars, no screeching trains and no loudly-ticking clocks. Cobbossee boys concentrate on being boys, not worrying about selfies, schedules, or homework.
Sometimes you have to go a little farther from home to find another home.
Sometimes you have to go a little farther from what you already know to find yourself.
In fact, Maine isn’t as far as you might think. It takes about a half day to get to most camps nearer Boston or New York via car. By plane to Maine, the travel time is almost identical. The difference for our boys, however, is literally worlds apart.
